Symptom Information

If you think that you may have diabetes, then you may be wondering what symptoms accompany the disease, and whether or not the symptoms you are experiencing could be diabetes. Before you look at the symptoms, however, you must be aware that there are two types of diabetes. Type one and type two diabetes have similar symptoms, but there are a couple of symptoms that you may find only happen within either one or the other type of diabetes.

With type one diabetes, the main symptoms that you may find yourself experiencing are having a dry mouth and being really thirsty all of the time. This increase in thirst will lead to more frequent urges to go to the restroom and may also lead to a dramatic loss of weight. Some sufferers of type one diabetes will find that they feel very weak for most of the day and have no energy to do very much at all. It can make life rather difficult, and this fatigue may even be joined by occasional blurred vision. These are also some of the symptoms associated with type two diabetes.

As well as blurred vision, increased fatigue, dry mouth and excessive thirst, sufferers of type two diabetes will find that when they get some kind of a minor injury, such as a cut, the wound takes much longer to heal than usual. Type two diabetes may also be accompanied by infections of the skin, infections in any minor wounds, and also more frequent yeast infections. These symptoms apply to both male and female diabetes patients.

Both type one and type two diabetes have similar symptoms and if you notice these changes within your body, you should visit the doctor immediately. It is good to do research on the internet concerning any health problems you may be having, but this does not replace the opinion of a qualified doctor. Only a doctor can positively diagnose any condition and prescribe treatments. The diagnosis will normally include a series of tests and it is only after this happens that you can receive the right treatment for your diabetes. Without proper treatment, you will face a multitude of challenges, some of them quite serious and even life threatening.

If you should experience any of these changes in your body, you should be aware that they could be due to a number of medical reasons and the answer to them may not always be diabetes. As we said above, only a doctor can tell you that. These symptoms can occur over a long period of time, or rather quickly. But at these first signs of diabetes you should visit your doctor. The quicker you can have your diabetes diagnosed, the quicker you can begin treatment, and the quicker you can get back to living your life. The treatment can help to dim the feelings of lethargy and weakness and you will find that it is much easier to carry out the activities in your daily life.
